We are participating in an art fair for the first time — and it is also our first exhibition of the year. We are guests at BADAFF in Ghent, under the exhibition title Terra Incognita. Unknown territory. That is what an art fair is for us, and it is also exactly what the three artists we are bringing are searching for in their work.
All three build their work from layers — found images, their own photographs, fragments from books, films, archives. Collages that they then translate into canvas, textile or paper.
The result is always a world that you recognise and do not recognise at the same time, one that invites you to keep looking.
